Cytocell Launch T-Cell ALL FISH probes

Jan 2011

T-cell leukaemia accounts for 10-15% of all lymphoid neoplasms in western countries and is a feature of between 12 and 15% of childhood ALL and 25% of adult cases. Around 30% of chromosomal abnormalities related to T-cell are translocations involving the T-cell receptor genes TCRA, TCRB, TCRD and TCRG whilst the remaining cases of adult T-cell ALL are often caused by contracting the HTLV-1 or Epstein Barr virus although large granular lymphocytic leukaemia (LGLL)and T-cell prolymphocytic leukaemia (T-PLL) are the result of abnormal expression of some transcription factors..

Cytocell have launched five new T-Cell ALL probes for detecting chromosomal rearrangements in T-cell leukaemia. These 5 probes (TCRAD, TCL1, TCRB, TLX3 and TLX1) enhance our already established haematology collection and together can pick up rearrangements in a majority of cases. With this enhancement to the range, Cytocell now offers the single largest collection of B and T-cell Leukaemia products in one place and all of these probes are now available to order from your local Cytocell distributor. To locate your closest Cytocell representative please visit the distributor section of our website.
